Winnipeg Game Collective Postmortem Feature Image

I recently designed the feature image for the Winnipeg Game Collective's postmortem event. It was a cool opportunity.

The Winnipeg Game Collective (WGC) is a group of game developers in Winnipeg, Canada. It's a mix of pros and newcomers, all interested in making games. I started joining their game jams back in 2019, mostly to motivate myself to make more games, learn, and stack up experience. It's been a great experience overall.

When Daniel, the WGC organizer, reached out about this project, I was happy to help. It's nice to contribute to a community you've been part of.

As usual, I started by sketching some ideas after getting the details. It's just part of my process for these kinds of projects.

We went back and forth a bit and settled on idea #1.

From there, I just got into drawing mode.

Daniel was cool about giving me artistic freedom, so I played around with colour mixing and kept some hard brush strokes. I think it turned out pretty decent.

I hope people in the community like it, too.

Bob Marley once said "Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet." I keep asking myself which people I am.
